Careers

We look for dependable people who can work carefully around damaged properties, communicate clearly, and understand that emergency securing is temporary protection rather than permanent repair. Our work can involve homes, rentals, commercial buildings, storefronts, fire-damaged properties, and vacant structures across Shoreview and nearby Minnesota communities. Team members need to be comfortable adapting to different openings, changing weather, and customers who may be dealing with an unexpected and stressful situation.

What We Look For

  • Care about the work. We want people who take pride in doing emergency board-up services properly, not just quickly.
  • Straight talk with customers. You will be in someone’s home or business explaining what you found. Plain language beats jargon.
  • Reliability. Showing up when you said you would matters more here than any single line on a resume.
  • Respect for the property. Protecting the space, cleaning up, and leaving it better than you found it.
  • Safety, every time. Following safe practice is part of the job, not an extra.

Experience in emergency board-up services or a related trade helps. If you have the attitude and not yet the trade experience, say so, because we do train.

Roles We Hire For

We are a small team, so openings come and go with the work. These are the roles we hire into.

Board-Up Field Technician

Board-Up Field Technicians help measure, prepare, and temporarily secure damaged windows, doors, storefront areas, and other property openings. This is hands-on work that requires safe tool use, practical judgment, careful measurements, and respect for customer property. A technician may be working on a broken home window one day and helping secure several commercial openings another day. The role also includes material handling, site setup, cleanup, and communication with the field lead about conditions that affect the temporary plan. We value people who understand that speed matters in property protection, but careless work creates new problems.

Qualifications

  • Comfort using common hand and power tools safely
  • Ability to measure openings accurately and work with sheet materials
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
  • Ability to follow field instructions and recognize when a condition needs review
  • Respectful communication around homes, businesses, tenants, and property managers
  • Willingness to work outdoors in changing Minnesota weather

Benefits

  • Hands-on training in temporary property-securing procedures
  • Varied residential and commercial field work
  • Opportunity to develop measurement, material-planning, and jobsite skills
  • Potential growth into field-lead responsibilities
  • Small-team environment with direct communication

Experienced Field Lead

The Experienced Field Lead assesses openings, chooses practical temporary securing approaches, coordinates technicians, checks measurements, and communicates job conditions clearly. This role is suited to someone with construction, exterior repair, restoration, carpentry, glass, property maintenance, or similar field experience. The strongest candidates understand that damaged properties do not always provide ideal attachment points and that unusual conditions require judgment rather than shortcuts. Field leads also help keep the scope clear for customers by distinguishing temporary protection from the permanent repairs that still need to happen.

Qualifications

  • Strong practical construction, restoration, exterior, or property-repair experience
  • Confidence measuring and planning around damaged openings
  • Good judgment regarding site access and obvious safety concerns
  • Ability to guide a small crew and communicate clearly with customers
  • Comfort documenting scope, dimensions, access issues, and material needs
  • Ability to adapt plans when framing or surrounding materials are damaged

Benefits

  • Greater responsibility for field decisions
  • Opportunity to train and mentor technicians
  • Mix of residential, commercial, and specialty securing assignments
  • Direct involvement in improving field procedures
  • Small-team communication with ownership and operations

Operations and Dispatch Coordinator

The Operations and Dispatch Coordinator gathers property details, organizes incoming service requests, tracks access instructions, and helps the field team arrive with useful information about each job. This person often speaks with customers during the first stressful part of a property-damage situation, so calm and clear communication matters. The coordinator needs to separate immediate safety issues from normal board-up questions, capture details accurately, and make sure the field team understands what type of opening is involved. Good organization makes the difference between arriving prepared and discovering basic job information too late.

Qualifications

  • Clear phone and written communication
  • Strong organization and note-taking skills
  • Ability to prioritize changing service requests
  • Comfort communicating with homeowners, managers, contractors, and field staff
  • Basic familiarity with Shoreview and surrounding northern Twin Cities communities
  • Ability to gather practical details without making unsupported promises

Benefits

  • Central role in a small local team
  • Opportunity to improve scheduling and service systems
  • Experience coordinating a variety of property situations
  • Direct communication with ownership and field staff
  • Chance to develop deeper knowledge of board-up and property-recovery workflows

Part-Time Property Securing Assistant

The Part-Time Property Securing Assistant is an entry-level field role for someone who wants practical experience with tools, measurements, materials, and property-service work. Assistants support technicians with material handling, site setup, cleanup, basic measurements, and other tasks involved in temporary board-up. The role requires reliability and a willingness to learn because damaged-property work changes from site to site. Assistants are expected to follow safety instructions, respect customer property, and speak up when they do not understand a task rather than guessing.

Qualifications

  • Dependable and willing to learn
  • Comfort working outdoors and around construction materials
  • Ability to follow safety and tool-use instructions
  • Respectful behavior at customer properties
  • Ability to handle routine physical field tasks
  • Interest in developing practical construction and property-service skills

Benefits

  • Practical introduction to property-service work
  • On-the-job instruction from experienced team members
  • Experience with tools, measurements, and temporary securing materials
  • Potential path toward a full technician role
  • Varied work across residential and commercial properties
